CoDrafter is a Chrome extension that helps you write better messages. This policy explains what data is involved and how it is handled.

What data the extension accesses

• The text you type into message compose boxes on supported platforms (WhatsApp, Gmail, LinkedIn, Slack, and others)
• Recent messages visible in your conversation thread, to provide context-aware suggestions

This data is used solely to generate writing suggestions in real time. It is never stored on any server, never logged, and never used for any purpose other than producing the suggestion you requested.

What is stored locally on your device

To personalise suggestions over time, the extension stores a small writing style profile in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local). This includes:

• A rolling window of up to 40 of your own sent messages per platform and per conversation
• A short prose summary of your writing style (generated after enough messages accumulate)

This data never leaves your device. It is not synced to any server and is not accessible to anyone other than you.

AI processing

When you request a suggestion, the extension sends the following to our secure proxy server, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude API:

• Your draft message (for rewrite requests)
• Recent conversation context (the last ~40 messages in the thread)
• Your writing style summary (if one has been generated)

The proxy server does not log, store, or retain any of this data. Anthropic's data handling is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

What we do not do

• We do not collect, store, or transmit your messages to any third party for any purpose other than generating suggestions
• We do not sell or share your data
• We do not track usage, installs, or user behaviour
• We do not require account creation or login

Permissions

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• storage — to save your local style profile
• tabs — to detect the active tab for keyboard shortcut handling
• host permissions (all URLs) — to inject the panel into any messaging app you use

Chrome Web Store — Limited Use Disclosure

CoDrafter's use of data obtained from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data accessed by this extension is used solely to provide the AI writing suggestion feature described above and for no other purpose.
